Possivelmente uma referência ao ano chinês do tigre, a começar em fevereiro de 2022, a Temporada de Ano-Novo 2022, sexagésima turnê do jogo, coloca ao volante o soberano dos Koopas, Bowser, e a poderosa vigia do cosmos, Rosalina, em suas formas felinas — Meowser e Rosalina gata, respectivamente. O efeito é dado a diversos personagens desde Super Mario 3D World através do uso do power-up supersino.
Uma curiosidade interessante que pode passar despercebida é que o jogo mobile deu à sábia, gentil e introvertida Rosalina um belo presente de fim de ano: um render oficial em 3D. Em design gráfico, render ou renderização descreve o processo de converter uma cena tridimensional em uma imagem 2D — o que acontece com a maioria das imagens produzidas para o marketing de divulgação dos produtos Nintendo.

O Mario gato, em contrapartida, também tem uma pelagem única: amarelo com listras laranjas.
